When it comes to technology The University of Iowa College of Education is a pace setter and cutting edge innovator. Examples include inventing the first optical scanner to score tests in 1952 to pioneering the use of ePortfolios in K12 and higher education to recent efforts in Assistive Technologies for learners with disabilities. The College of Education has also positioned itself well in the exciting and growing area of online education. Online education allows people to take classes on the internet who may otherwise not have access to higher education.
At The University of Iowa College of Education we enrich the online experience by reaching and teaching students across the state and around the globe with our world class faculty and programs. From Spring 2011 to Fall 2012 the College of Education delivered 230 online courses generating 3,119 student enrollments and 7,818 semester credit hours. To meet the demands the College of Education has outfitted five classrooms with the needed audio video technologies to teach anyone anywhere in the world with an internet connection. We also have instructional designers on site to help our faculty deliver the highest quality educational experience our students have come to expect from The University of Iowa. Continuing on with our history of innovation we invite you to join to us to meet new unknown challenges within yourself and community.
