Fulfills professional responsibilities established b the school district.
Criteria: The Teacher Elementary Counseling Services
a. Adheres to board policies, district procedures, and contractual obligations.

Personal/Social Program Management

  • Provide accessibility to counseling services during school hours
b. Demonstrates professional and ethical conduct as defined by state law and individual district policy.

Academic Program Management

  • Facilitate Child Study Teams
c. Contributes to efforts to achieve district and building goals.

Academic Consultation

  • Representation on Child Study Teams
d. Demonstrates an understanding of and respect for all learners and staff.

Personal/Social Planning

  • Collaborate with parents/teachers on behavior modification concerns (Standard #6E)
e. Collaborates with students, families, colleagues, and communities to enhance student learning.

Personal/Social Program Management

  • Facilitate referrals to various youth oriented agencies such as YMCA, Big Brother/Big Sister, various camps, etc. (standard #4F)

Personal/Social Consultation

  • Referral/information exchange with outside agencies (DHS, mental health professionals, law enforcement personnel, etc.)

Personal/Social Responsive Services

  • Follow up on staff and parent referrals regarding students with personal concerns
