Demonstrates competence in classroom management.
Criteria: The Teacher Elementary Counseling Services
a. Creates a learning community that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement, and self-regulation for every student.

Personal/Social Student Advocacy

  • Negotiate conflict situations between students where appropriate
b. Establishes, communicates, models, and maintains standards of responsible student behavior.

Personal/Social Responsive Services

  • Develop behavior plans for students (standard #2B)

Career Student Advocacy

  • Model and reinforce appropriate student behaviors for school success (life skills, cooperation, work completion, promptness, time management, responsibility, etc.)
c. Develops and implements classroom procedures and routines that support high expectations for learning.

Academic Preventative Services

  • Coordinate transitional activities for students entering the school as new students or moving on to middle school (Standard #3B, #5D)
d. Uses instructional time effectively to maximize student achievement.

Career Preventative Services

  • Reinforce the understanding of skills necessary to be successful in school (time management, organization, active listening, following directions, team work, study skills, etc.)
e. Creates a safe and purposeful learning environment. Rules-Hallway/Assembly

Personal/Social Planning

  • Collaborate with parents/teachers on behavior modification concerns (Standard #8D)
