Standard 4
Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meet the multiple learning needs of students.
Criteria: The Teacher Elementary Counseling Services
a. Aligns classroom instruction with local standards and district curriculum.  
b. Uses research-based instructional strategies that address the full range of cognitive levels. Career Preventative Services
  • Expose students to materials and people representing a variety of career fields to increase career awareness levels of the students
c. Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness in adjusting instruction to meet student needs. Personal/SocialStudent Advocacy
  • Strategize with parents and staff for dealing with unusual student situations/behavior
d. Engages students in varied experiences that meet diverse needs and promote social, emotional, and academic growth. Personal/Social Program Management
  • Manage special student groups such as student counsel, conflict managers, and community service project groups.
e. Connects students' prior knowledge, life experiences, and interests in the instructional process. Academic Student Advocacy
  • Communicate special need concerns regarding student/family with staff when circumstances are likely to affect academic/school performance
f. Uses available resources, including technologies, in the delivery of instruction. Personal/Social Program Management
  • Facilitate referrals to various youth oriented agencies such as YMCA, Big Brother/Big Sister, various camps, etc. (standard #8E)
